Clinical Supervision Service
Lutheran Community Care provides clinical supervision for counsellors, community service workers, school chaplains and other lay workers.
Clinical supervision is a supportive, confidential space for a worker to reflect on their practice.
In clinical supervision, a worker speaks with a registered clinical supervisor who can recognise any behavioural and/or psychological changes in the worker that could be due to difficulty coping with issues of one or more clients.
Clinical supervisors are responsible for challenging practices, extending the learning of the worker and supporting them to manage professional boundaries and self care. The focus of clinical supervision is the worker’s practice with clients and the further development of their skills and practice.
People with clinical supervision requirements for professional membership should check the specific requirements of their professional body. Currently LCC offers clinical supervision with a supervisor accredited with the Australian Counselling Association.
